I smite thee with a crowbar in the name of God!

The life of the monk is typically painted as one of serene servitude. In the case of this Greek Orthodox monastery, serenity seems far away.

Some of the monks are unhappy with their church forming closer ties with the Catholic Church – don’t blame them really. They were asked to leave the monastery. This resulted in a bit of a scrap. Monks were spreading the love of God by attacking each other with weapons such as crowbars and fire extinguishers.

Some Christians are always eager to remind us that without God, we would have no morals and would do terrible things to one another. It’s fortunate that these are religious men, imagine what they would do if they didn’t have God telling them how to be nice to their fellow man?
